My sister and I are deep into raising our children. She's busy with a teenage step-daughter and then a pre-teen son and 10 year old son (Happy Birthday today, Austin!).
I'm raising a two year old and am just a very few weeks away from giving birth to twin newborns. My sister and I talk every day and laugh about each others antics in raising teens and toddlers (quite similar by the way).
Reid LOVES his big boy cousins. He screams with joy when they enter the room and he usually bawls when they leave. The thing that makes us laugh the most is that he acts like such a big boy when they're around. There's no way he'd want his soother, he never takes a bottle when they're around (even as a much younger baby) and he just has to keep up with them.
Rylan (my almost 13 year old nephew) has been coming over quite a bit to help me. If Del is working or has to go out, Rylan comes and bathes and does the bed time routine. Reid loves it and "wynan" has to do everything. He also goes to bed perfectly for him.
Last night Del went out so Rylan came over and took charge. Everything went very well. Reid obviously enjoyed himself because at 6:30 this morning, Reid yelled out, "Wynan...I need a ba-ba". He was disappointed when Daddy went in ;).
Here he is being "one of the guys" and a very, very rare bottle after a nap while wearing Rylan's hat.
