Twenty

This guy is 20 months old today. That sure sounds really close to two! How/why does the time go by so fast?

Here are 20 facts, tricks and things I love about my 20 month old:

1. Those chubby cheeks.
2. The way his eyes light up when Del or I come into the room.
3. How when you tell him we're going for a car ride, he always asks, "Papa?". If you don't answer yes that we're going to Grandpa's then he's not interested in getting in the car.
4. How he's happy 98% of the time.
5. He gives himself a time out. I've found him sitting at the mat at the front door a few times!
6. Even though it can be slightly annoying, his love of "Mel-mo".
7. His ever expanding vocabulary: "cookie", "gullagullaa - gorilla", "geese", "pizza", "goalie", "touchdown", "baby", "Dorthy (Elmo's fish)"
8. When he plays football, he tucks the ball under his arm, puts his head down, rolls his eyes and starts running.
9. He can now feed himself with a fork or spoon 80% of the time.
10. How much he loves his babysitter and can say and name all of the kids there.
11. His love of being outside.
12. His love of books and how well he can turn pages.
13. How he'll pick up any print (newspaper, flyer, one of my books) and "read" it out loud.
14. Even though he's slow to warm up to new people, once he does you have a friend forever.
15. His great sense of humour. He just "gets" it.
16. How he gibber-jabbers in his crib in the morning.
17. Elmo always gets the first drink out of his bottle!
18. How much he loves his Grandma/Grandpa, Auntie and "Doug" (what he calls his Uncle Doug).
19. How he adores his big cousins.
20. How just before his meal, he grabs our hands with his little chubby ones, bows his head and says grace with us.
What a blessing!

Can't believe how much he looks like Austin in this pic. What a great and long list of achievements for such a little guy. They just never cease to amaze at how much they know. I think Cohen already understands when I say "stand up" as he straightens his legs - what miracles they are!
