The Final Chapter

So here's the final leg of our 4000 km journey.

After Halifax, we drove to New Minas, Nova Scotia to meet up with my sister (who was visiting friends). Her friends (and ours, too) let us stay with them for two nights. We spent that time enjoying their company, a "garage" party and their enormous pool.
A musical Eastern tradition is a "Kitchen Party", where neighbours would gather in one kitchen and have a jam session. Del has dreamed of this and our friends in New Minus set us up with some local musicians for Del to jam with. Instead of in a kitchen, it was in his garage. The night went on until after 1am (Del is 2nd from the right).

After New Minus, we left Nova Scotia for Hopewell Rocks (in New Brunswick). It has the highest tides in the world. At 3pm the tides were high:
And then by 8pm the tides were low and we could go and walk on the ocean floor:
This rock was called the "Lover's Arch" and so we had a family picture under it (if you click on the picture it will enlarge):
Many hours were spent in the car. Many cups of Timmies were drank. Many, many episodes of Elmo and Curious George were watched. Reid did VERY well. He slept 12 hours each night (except for one where his Dad unintentionally woke him up), napped in the car, or in the stroller, or wherever and kept pretty even tempered. My only concern was that he didn't eat anything other than cheerios, milk, soup, fish crackers and fruit. However, coming home has changed that.
All in all, it was a fantastic trip and we'd highly recommend it!
