Par-tay!

At last! A new post. Things have been very busy these days. Between working, after work meetings and commitments, party planning and chasing a VERY busy little one around the house, posting has been neglected. However, here's the re-cap of Reid's part(ies) and first birthday festivities.

On Tuesday (his actual birthday) we had my sister and her family over for after-supper cupcakes. Reid had been given a cupcake the day before (for a photo shoot I will post about in the coming days) and didn't like getting icing all over his hands. So this time he decided not to touch his cupcake. He made the point even more clear by keeping his hands behind his head as not to be tempted to touch the cupcake and get messy. And yes, I like to wear grey sweatpants after work. Whatever.

My sister (aka "Auntie") decided to be helpful and feed him the cupcake. He enjoyed that and the sugar high was still in full swing that night at 10pm. I know this because as I was trying for the ump-teenth time to rock him to sleep, he started barking like a puppy dog. Nice.

Fast-forward to Sunday. We had a big, bang-out par-tay. Only Auntie and her family were able to attend but our wonderful friends helped us celebrate. We rented an indoor playground about 5 blocks from our house. It turned out great! The kids all had a blast and my nephews were a real hit driving around all of the little ones in the riding cars. One of my friends little girls yelled, "this is the best birf-day e-v-e-r". So cute! Reid loved all of the action and the 1,398 laps he made around the "race track".

Lastly, if you can't wear rubber boots and a onesie on your birthday, when can you?

Sorry we missed the par-tay. Reid's gift is in my car. Instead, we stayed home so me and my cold (blech) could nap. I'll stop by after work one of these days to deliver the loot!
