So This is Christmas

Merry Boxing Day!

We had a wonderful Christmas hosting my family in our new house!  The kids had a great time and though Reid still didn't quite understand the whole concept of gifts and opening presents, he LOVED having his big cousins (and Auntie and Uncle) around for the whole day!

Christmas Eve we had Del's traditional KFC meal.  Well, he had it and we had cabbage rolls and ham.  It's turned into a big joke where he has his yearly KFC fix.

We then dressed up and went to church.  All three kids were still and as quiet as mice throughout the candle light service.  Reid loved the candles and when we were done he said, "that was fun church".  He wanted to do the candles with his cousins the next day.

All I've ever wanted for Christmas!

Oh, the beloved helmet!

First dolls taste great!

Christmas day my Aunt was here and my parents and sister and her family.  We opened gifts (Santa brought Reid his much anticipated baseball helmet and the girls their first dolls), had a big brunch and then snoozed in the afternoon.  We had a big turkey supper with all of the trimmings and pie for dessert.

We had some sad news that early Christmas morning, our dear family member (my mom's first cousin) lost her long battle with cancer.  I guess she wanted to go Home for Christmas.  We will miss her!  She was like a sister to my Mom and also had twin grand-daughters.  She was such a lovely person.

Today we're getting together with my Mom's side of the family.  Lots of cousins and food and hopefully some fresh farm air!

Merry Christmas!
